Clean the display properly!

We show the most popular mistakes that can be made when cleaning displays such as: flat screen TV, plasma, tablet, smartphone, LED, TFT, LCD, OLED display, notebooks, etc. These mistakes often happen unconsciously and can have undesirable negative consequences. Up to irreparable destruction of the surface.

The list of the most common mistakes:

Use glass cleaner to clean ... STOP

Glass cleaners often contain alcohol, vinegar or citric acid which can attack the surface of your display and cause it to become matt. Once this has happened, it cannot be undone. It is not without reason that there is often a hint on glass cleaner that it is not suitable for LCD TVs.

Brush in the sun

In direct sunlight it is like cleaning windows. There will always be streaking. Therefore you should not expose the display to direct sunlight if you want to clean it. In addition, the resulting heat causes the cleaner to evaporate directly, making cleaning impossible.

Too warm

As with direct sunlight, the television will heat up over time. If the television is too warm, the applied cleaner evaporates immediately and the television cannot be cleaned properly. You should therefore turn off the display and let it cool down at least an hour before cleaning. It is also advisable to pull out the power plug and, if necessary, remove the battery from notebooks.

Press too hard

TFT / LCD / LED plasma displays are getting thinner and larger. This also makes you more and more sensitive to shock and pressure. If you press too hard, the screen can be irreparably damaged. Therefore: Let the cleaner work and do not work with pressure!

tap water

You often read that simple tap water is enough to get your TFT / LCD / LED television (matt, clear, retina displays) clean and streak-free. However, this cannot work. Tap water contains lime, which settles on the picture surface and leaves ugly stains and streaks.

Coarse or fluffy cleaning cloths

Too coarse a cleaning cloth can scratch the surface of your display and prevent a clear picture forever. Lint cleaning cloths are just not fun. No matter how hard you try, the display will always appear "dirty". Use the Prof. microfibre cloths from ROGGE Professional .
